Noir suits you good

There is a lot to be praised when a pop artist departures from a signature sound and explores darker and edgier territories. Such is the case with the new Rihanna material, far away from the dance sound of her previous hits. Not one to be pigeonholed, she has released a dark musical statement while all her recent misfortunes (the leaked sex pictures, the beatings by super-star ex-boyfriend) have been put on magnifying lenses. If others have had very public meltdowns, she went for a music as therapy venture. And it pays off. Check below the video for the second single, Wait Your Turn (amazing song, in all its minimal dubstep beats), directed by Anthony Mandler. Strong, strong comeback.
