Glass Candy - B/E/A/T/B/O/X

Not long after "Night Drive" by Chromatics, the american label Italians Do It Better surprises us with another full-length record, this time from Glass Candy, one of their flagship projects. To be precise, this isn't exactly their much-antecipated first-album, being instead an exclusive outing made to be distributed during their tour and including new recordings of previously-released songs, like their amazing cover of Kraftwerk's "Computer Love". Still, with 9 tracks, this is a must-have that further explores the wonderful alternative universe that Italians Do It Better has been building in the last months. This time with a collection of narcotic disco anthems full of retro-arrangements, grandious synth-lines, distant punk melodies and processed through a lot of ghostly electro beats. And let's not forget the fascinating cold sexual imaginary that is all over "B/E/A/T/B/O/X", unapproachable but still physical enough to be highly addictive. (8,5/10)
